Recently, on February 14th, 2016, Michele Ferrero the inventor of Nutella & Ferrero chocolates died. On Valentine’s Day too! He was a billionaire, the richest man in Italy, and died at age 89. He was worth around $23.4 billion. Nutella has always been a family business but the Nutella spread wasn’t always spreadable. It was actually started out to be as solid as a brick! Also, Nutella became highly popular in 1988. Michele says that hazelnuts are mainly key. They help with the nutty taste. Nutella is now entirely and truly global.
