Respect

By Lydia Osborne

Yes, I know we have all heard it before: “Treat others the way you want to be treated,” but doing that is another story. Some of us don’t follow this motto, instead, hurting people’s feelings, being violent, or not paying attention in school. I know I shouldn’t be the one to talk, but this is a little paragraph about how I plan on changing that and why other people should too.

Respect is something that a lot of people appreciate and need more of whether you’re a parent, a teacher, or even a student. Respect is important because it helps us be polite and get others to be nicer to their peers. I admit, it has been harder for me in the past because I talk a lot and it’s hard to control, but I know in order to help myself and others succeed, and for my teachers to respect me, I have to respect them, and you should encourage others to do the same.
